Nightwick Abbey - Session 138 - You've Dominated The Thing In Your Pocket

Into the City

Last week, we ended our session just as the party reached the city of Blackleg. The cure for Pataki's possession supposedly lies in the hills just outside the city.

Last time we were hear, the Pizzled Gules was mysteriously blown up (by us) and rebuilding is going poorly.

We find rooms at the Black Cockrel as evening fast approaches.

We don't seem to be recognized from our last visit but people are rapidly exiting the street and going into their houses.

Trouble in Blackleg 

Liminal Space approaches a random woman who has not yet gone inside and demands to know why everyone is going inside.

Upon gazing Liminal's visage, which resembles a porcelain Hummel figurine as he is a son of Father Winter, the woman shrieks and attempts to ward him off with an iron horseshoe.

The lady believes Liminal is Fay (which he is) and that he's come to take her child (maybe?)

Servants and Devils of Knaught Reupert have been stealing children in Blackleg, we learn, and so its citizens are staying off the street.

Off to the Shrine

Knaught Reupert is who we're after, to help Pataki.

Mayfly tries to get directions, offends the lady, and gets a horseshoe thrown at his head.

We need to find the location of the Shrine and so we consult the Gold Skull, which contains the spirit of the Magician Edric, and in fact he knows the location of the shrine.

We decide to get a donkey to carry Pataki on and make a fine switch as a gift for Knaught Reupert (he loves hitting people with switches).

Off to the Shrine Really Really Actually This Time, Seriously

10th of December, 1399

We leave first thing in the morning and go southwest, into the hills where mines are located.

After hours of travel without seeing a landmark, we suspect we are lost. Mayfly consults his familiar, in his pocket, asking for directions. 

The creature does not want to reveal this information as it enjoys Pataki's possession, but he is able to dominate it through force of will and it reveals the way to the shrine - we indeed had been lost.

We head towards the shrine, but cannot make it there today due to our wanderings.

The evening grows late and the air cold so we make camp.

11th of December, 1399

We continue on our way to the shrine.

During the morning, Liminal's horse bolts and he is almost thrown off, but is uninjured.

We push forward and make it to the entrance to the shrine in the late morning, which sits on a gentle hillside.

The evening grows late for us players and so we halt, ready to enter Knaught Reupert's shrine in the next session.
