Session 129 - 28th of Sextember, 1399

This week's adventurers:

Blossom (Rogue 7)

Ulf (Magician 5)

Thekla (Magician 5)

Liminal Space (Changeling 5)

Pataki (Rogue 5)

Yevgeny the Coward (Cleric 4)

Felix (Dwarf 3)

Hirelings: Cuncze, Petra, Hartnid (Rogue 2)

Downtime in the Village

Over the week, the voice in Pataki's head grows stronger, urging her more and more towards evil.

Ulf meanwhile purchases one (1) magic bean, trading a dagger and two rations for it.

We give Felix a spare magic sword and Liminal his shield.

He celebrates by drunkenly burning down the house of Duncan the Blacksmith.

The villages can't prove its us, but we're really the only likely suspects.

Liminal hires Petra the Woodsman and kits him out for this delve.

Into the Abbey

We return to level 4, without incident, and again go to the map south, through some rooms to where Liminal betrayed some Flymen a few weeks ago.

That room is newly reoccupied by a large figure with a too large brazen head, surrounded by 7 rotting figures dressed in the garb of monks.

The brazen figure begins to float, the chant of a spell on its lips.

The rotting figures, with eyes the color of rotting meat, begin to titter.

The Brazen head casts us in darkness and we push forward into the room to escape it.

Into the Fray

Liminal charges, and hits one of the rotted monks with his sword, then Blossom. She hits it in the head, slicing through its head and it deflates like a rotten pumpkin, and it falls to the ground "like a broken Halloween decoration."

Thekla casts Fireball which kills the Brazen head and all but one of its devotees.

We wail on remaining one with melee until it stops moving.

Listening to the door to the east, we hear the sound of flies.

Shit Baby

We force the door open to see two large, dog-sized flies buzzing around a bundle of shit, wrapped like a baby.

Ulf suggests Indiana Jonesing the poop to get it out of the crib, but Liminal just digs through it with his mitts.

He finds nothing and the flies seem angry at us but do not attack.

More Exploration

This room is 30' by 20' and has doors on all four sides.

We go north to a 40' long corridor that has a door to the east and west.

It opens up into a 50' by 30' room.

Old-School Dungeons and Dragons is Primarily a Game About Doors

In the middle is a pool of very hot water, heating up the room.

There are further doors north, east, and west.

The north should connect to a room we were in last week, with another large pool of steaming water.

Mayfly once fished some silver out of this pool and so we check this room again.

We notice, in the boiling water , a stack of silver coins.

To the west is a short hallway that circles back to a room we came from.

To the west, is a 20' by 30' room.

Blossom detects a trap in the room and triggers it with a 10' pole - a white gas is dissipated into the room.

We go back to the hot water room and fashion a pool-skimmer type situation and pull 2,000sp worth of coin out of it!

The night grows surprisingly late and we're content now that the delve won't be a shut-out, treasure-wise, and so we return uneventfully back to the village.

We each gain 250xp and we recover 2,000sp total.
